Bold, strong, and stimulating.  These are the words that best describe this transformed modern space, as well as the homeowner herself!

While the owner loved her previous home location, she needed a little extra space.  Luckily, another unit within same complex came on the market and she wasted no time.  This unit, although smaller in living area, had a better space distribution where she was able to have a bedroom and a separate working space (for her yoga and writing endeavors).  

Even though it was in dire need of work due to years of neglect, she wasted no time and begun gutting it, turning it into a modern haven ripe for her artistic inspiration.

While the space commands a little under 600 SF of living space, it is big in personality.  

The single galley kitchen cabinets were given a face lift with lacquer black paint.  All new graphite stainless steel appliances as well as a black kitchen sink completed her dream kitchen look.  The small space was used efficiently, adding shelving to increase space for spices and other kitchen items.

The theme continued in the bathroom, where a sleek sink and faucet, and a Kohler tub were fitted to complete the look.

In her modern and bold space, the homeowner installed grayish hardwood and black tile floors, crystal chandeliers, and custom closets to improve her closet storage (and allow space for her shoe collection!)

The almost monochromatic look is curved with the red and animal print accessories that make it her personal retreat.

We are loving not only her bold choices, but also her creativity in turning a small dilapidated space into a one-of-a-kind modern home with efficient use of space that she loves!
