Go Team USA!

We are so excited the Olympics are finally here! Not only are the games going to be exciting, but every single backdrop will be absolutely incredible, gorgeous, and simply classic all throughout my favorite city in the world (and its surroundings!)

Team USA is looking so sleek and sophisticated in their opening ceremony outfitted by Ralph Lauren… and I’m sure there will be many many medals clinging together over these blazers by the time the games are over!

In honor of the Olympic Games in Paris, I am going down memory lane, to both Bianca and my many trips to my favorite city in the world.. Paris! (and some other memories throughout France!

French cuisine, language, and culture has always been special to me, and along with our mother, Bianca and I have traveled to France repeatedly. I also had a chance to take my daughter for a quick Paris stop on her first ever trip to Europe when she was only 5!

During my MBA studies, I was lucky to have the ability to spend a semester in Paris. I had many visitors during my time there, and I was able to go to many places around Paris with my guests - including Champagne, Bordeaux, Province, Chartres, Mont Saint Michel, and the incredible Loire Valley.

During my studies in Paris, I stayed in a charming Haussmannian apartment in the 16th Arrondissement, located across the Seine from the Eiffel Tower (it was a quick 15 minute walk from my apartment). While I had always stayed closer to the center of the city, I came to truly love this arrondissement, as it made me feel away from the tourist crowds and more part of every day Parisian life.

Along the southern part of Paris, the 16th is adjacent to Boulogne-Billancourt, and includes neighborhoods such as Passy, Auteuil, and Trocadero (the Louis Vuitton Foundation is found in this area as well). The charm of the 16th, besides being so close to many historical attractions and closer to Versailes, is that is very residential, as most tourists stay closer to the center of the ville.

Below are a few pictures from my time in Paris during my study abroad …

While we all have spent so much time in Paris, there was also a lot of time spent in other regions of France. For now, I will share a little of our time in Province …

So much more to show going down memory lane, but we’ll leave that for another blog post! for now, we are back to watching the Paris Olympics 2024 Opening Ceremony which has been absolutely cool!

What athletes are you excited to watch!?

Go Team USA!
